Joy and Okta – eternal devotion
A simple wedding for a simple couple. This is the impression I got when I entered the hotel where Joy was being dressed up, and later on to Okta’s house 5 minutes away. A simple couple with a simple commitment of eternal devotion.
I like everything about the ceremony. Starting from the short state registration at the hotel. Then the on time church procession followed by dinner. Stephanie, Joy’s younger sister, opened the ceremony with Beyonce’s I Look to You. Reverend Josef Ririmasse was very energetic about the man-woman connection (and he stressed out this connection quite a few times). The food was definitely delicious. And as customary in any Ambonese wedding, there were quite a number of other families and friends who sang songs. Oh, and did I mention that the different kebaya (traditional Indonesian ladies long dress) worn by the families are fabulous?
Again congratulations to both of you, and thank you for inviting me to partake in this celebration.
